As you all know, there are many beautiful places to visit in this wide world. Some are famous for their history, some for the beautiful architecture that was preserved in time but I believe that the most captivating are the so called “natural wonders”. Up to this moment there are 7 official natural wonders and thousands of other amazing places untouched by human hands. So here are 5 natural wonders that you must see:

1. Colored Fields of Yunnan – China

Natural Wonders China Colored Fields of Yunnan

In the southern part of China, near the Vietnam border, you will discover a breathtaking view. What could easily be mistaken for a painter’s colorful canvas, is actually a real place filled with hundreds of flower-fields. Places like this could make anyone believe that heaven is actually a place on Earth.

2. Valley of Flowers – India

Natural Wonders India Valley of Flowers

This wonderful 8 km long valley is situated in the high Himalayas of the Uttaranchal, at an altitude of 3,600 meters above the sea-level, protected by snowy mountains. Completely frozen during the colder months, the valley blooms in all its splendor during warmer periods, while locals believe that fairies have returned to visit the place. It was declared a national park in 1982, and now it is considered a World Heritage Site.

3. Crescent Moon Lake Oasis – China

Natural Wonders China Crescent Moon Lake Oasis

I’m sure all of you have heard about oases or read about their existence but I think that if you want to visit one, this might be your chance to see a place that up until this moment was described only in Oriental stories. Situated at the foot of Mingshashan, the 200m long Lake of the Crescent Moon (Yuèyá Quán) awaits for eager tourists to come and discover its unique beauty.

4. Pamukkale – Turkey

Natural Wonders Turkey Pamukkale

Pamukkale – translated to “cotton castle” – is the name of another fascinating natural wonder. It can be found in the southwestern area of Turkey. What makes it unique are the hot springs and terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water, which is a natural phenomenon. The calcium oxide in the water adds to the thickness of the white layers and widens the terraces, creating pools in fantastic shapes such as oyster shells or flower petals. Here you can enjoy an amazing bath while admiring the breathtaking view.

5. Lençóis Maranhenses National Park – Brazil

Natural Wonders Brazil Lençóis Maranhenses

You can find the amazing Lençóis Maranhenses National Park in the State of Maranhão, on the north shore of Brazil. This park consists of an area of about 300 square kilometers of extremely white dunes and deep blue lagoons, forming one of the most beautiful and unique places in the world. If you ask yourself questions such as “How did the water get there?” you will find that the rain actually caused this, but the most surprising part is that fish can be found in these lagoons, despite their disappearance during the dry season.
