If you’re not a huge fan of classic horror movies, but you still want to celebrate Halloween in a movie marathon kind of way, horror comedies are you perfect pick. Often with ridiculous plots and unexpectedly funny story development, horror comedies have been around even from the 1920s (‘Haunted Spooks‘ for example), and recently became hugely popular once ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and all the ‘Scary Movies’ were released.
Below you have a list of ten awesome horror comedies that revolve around teenagers and that we really think you’ll enjoy. All you need is a bunch of friends, a huge bowl of popcorn, some carved pumpkins and you can let the Halloween celebrations begin.
Wasting Away (2007)
Turning the zombie film on its head, this film is an oddball comedy from the perspective of the brain munching monsters themselves.
Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth (2000)
A reporter investigates a series of murders called the Spring Break Massacre which leads to further mayhem.
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)
The next great psycho horror slasher has given a documentary crew exclusive access to his life as he plans his reign of terror over the sleepy town of Glen Echo, all the while deconstructing the conventions and archetypes of the horror genre for them.
Dance of the Dead (2008)
On the night of the big high-school prom, the dead rise to eat the living, and the only people who can stop them are the losers who couldn’t get dates to the dance.
Stan Helsing (2009)
It’s Halloween night, and slacker video clerk Stan Helsing along with his insanely sexy ex-girlfriend, best buddy and an exotic dancer/’massage therapist’ detours into a town cursed by the biggest monsters in movie history: Freddy, Jason, Pinhead, Leatherface, Chucky and Michael Myers.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010)
Tucker & Dale are on vacation at their dilapidated mountain cabin when they are attacked by a group of preppy college kids.
A shy student trying to reach his family in Ohio, a gun-toting tough guy trying to find the Last Twinkie and a pair of sisters trying to get to an amusement park join forces to travel across a zombie-filled America.
Dead Snow (2009)
A ski vacation turns horrific for a group of medical students, as they find themselves confronted by an unimaginable menace: Nazi zombies.
Still a stranger to her own body, a high school student discovers she has a… physical advantage when she becomes the object of male violence.
‘Sheitan’ tells the story of a group of youngsters who exit a disco late one night and accidentally run into a shepherd who has prepared himself for a night of Satanic worship.
