If you plan on keeping your Valentine’s Day celebration a low-key affair, you can always spend the evening watching a romantic movie. And our choices have it all: great acting, witty dialogue, lots of sparks, and, as expected, true love. Here are 10 movies perfect to watch on Cupid’s holiday.
The Notebook
This one is, by far, one of the most romantic movies ever made. A poor and passionate young man falls in love with a rich young woman and gives her a sense of freedom. They soon are separated by their social differences, but manage to find each other again, years later.
Gone With the Wind
A manipulative woman and a roguish man carry on a turbulent love affair in the American south during the Civil War and Reconstruction. A story of love, war, passion, all gone with the wind.
Casablanca

This is one of the few movies I can personally watch over and over again without getting tired of it. It’s set in unoccupied Africa during the early days of World War II. An American expatriate meets a former lover, with unforeseen complications.
When Harry Met Sally
Harry and Sally have known each other for years, and are very good friends, but they fear sex would ruin the friendship. Romantic, witty, funny, classic. And a marvelous happy end. Don’t watch the video below if you haven’t seen the movie yet – it will just ruin it for you.
Sleepless in Seattle
A recently-widowed man’s son calls a radio talk show in an attempt to find his father a partner. Let’s sit back and see what happens.
Dirty Dancing

Spending the summer in a holiday camp with her family, Frances falls in love with the camp’s dancing teacher. Nobody puts Baby in a corner! I had the time of my life. Heat, magic, dancing. Not your ordinary family vacation. And that’s a wrap.
Love Actually
Follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely and interrelated tales, all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England. Even if you hate romantic comedies, you might find this one surprisingly enjoyable.
Notting Hill

Can the most famous film star in the world fall for just an ordinary guy? Apparently yes. The life of a simple bookshop owner changes when he meets the most famous film star in the world. Because when they get together, everyone has something to say.

An Affair to Remember
A movie to remember. A couple falls in love and agrees to meet in six months at the Empire State Building – but will it happen?
Pretty Woman

A man in a legal but hurtful business needs an escort for some social events, and hires a beautiful prostitute he meets… only to fall in love. If you’re a girl and this movie doesn’t give you hope I don’t know what will.
