1) What do you wish you knew before you started your first business?

I really wish somebody told me how hard it was. How many hours I would have to work. The sacrifices I would need to take to ensure success. Those were stressful times, but I learned a lot.

2) What’s your best hiring tip/secret?

Finding good people is easy. Finding great people takes a combination of investigative work and multiple encounters in various settings. After doing some research and meeting in a professional setting, take your potential hire somewhere that might get them out of their comfort zone. I want to be 100% confident in an individual before they become part of our team.

3) What was the best piece of advice you ever got? The worst?

The best advice was from my grandmother, I was 7. She said, “Live every day to the fullest, because tomorrow is not guaranteed.” I took this approach every day since then. The worst advice I ever got was to “Just give up”. I have heard to many times to count but I will always keep pushing to reach my goals, and never give up.

4) What do you think is the most important innovation of your lifetime thus far?

Between the Internet, electric cars, and solar energy it is tough to say. They have all had an exponential effect on the entire world. The Internet will continue to help advance innovation for the others by connecting people and one of the most important issues today is our dependence on fossil fuels and the effect it has on our environment.

5) Who would you most like to have dinner with?

My Wife, Irina. There is nobody I would rather sit down and have a nice meal with, she knows me better than anyone else, always has the right answer, and is my rock.
