Wedding Dress

Weddings give you a great chance to dress up, and really look your best. Knowing this has inspired us to put together a few tips to help you to find a great outfit, and get yourself ready, on the day.

Give yourself enough time

The most important piece of advice we can give you is to shop early. Ideally you want to have bought your outfit, and all of the accessories, at least three weeks in advance of the wedding.

That way you give yourself enough time to try everything on together and see if there are any issues that need fixing. For example, taking up your dress, or maybe buying a different handbag or changing the way you do your hair and makeup.

Break your shoes in

It also gives you a chance to wear your new shoes around the house for a few evenings. Doing this ensures that you will not end up with blisters, and will be able to enjoy a dance in the evening.

Invest in good accessories

There is no point in spending a lot of money on a nice wedding guest dress if you are not going to finish your outfit off properly by buying the right accessories. Try to buy jewellery, shoes and a bag that you are likely to be able to use for other occasions. If you take this approach you will not feel guilty about paying a lot for your accessories.

Crank up your skincare routine

A couple of months before you are due to attend the wedding take the chance to improve your skincare and beauty routines. This will ensure that your skin looks flawless in the photos.

Attending a wedding can also be an opportunity to improve your eating habits and step up your fitness routine. You can use the fact you want to lose a few pounds and tone up to look your best to motivate you.

Get a good night’s sleep

The night before the wedding go to bed early. That way you will be well rested and look better as a result.

Eat a light breakfast

Try to eat a light and healthy breakfast. This will provide you with the energy you need to get you through to the reception without your feeling bloated.

Get dressed early

Aim to be ready at least 30 minutes before you need to be. That way if there are any last minute issues, for example a loose button, you have time to sort it out.

Give yourself plenty of time to get there

You also need to be careful to leave yourself enough time to get to the venue. It is better to arrive early, and have a cup of coffee somewhere nearby than it is to rush.

Maintaining your look

To make sure you stay looking good take a clothes brush and some stain removal products to deal with spillages. You can find out exactly what you need from this page, and put together a kit to leave in the car. That way it is easily to hand should you need it.
